UniSport’s recreation events are designed to suit everyone, regardless of their background or preferences in physical activity.
We have programme options for groups of all sizes and events of varying durations, from five to a hundred people and from 15 minutes to a full day. Our goal is to create unforgettable moments filled with laughter, teamwork and experiences involving exercise. We always plan the day according to your needs and wishes so that each participant gets the best possible experience.

Active recreation events filled with the joy of physical activity
The day is filled with exciting moments and feelings of success, as you get to try out various forms of exercise safely in a familiar atmosphere. Brief sample sessions in a range of sports provide an opportunity to experience the diverse delights of physical activity. During the day, each participant can find their personal favourite. Exercise has never been so fun and motivating – join us in creating an unforgettable day full of the joy of sports and shared experiences!

Inclusive recreation events without physical exercise
We understand that exercise is not necessarily everyone’s biggest passion, which is why we offer a wide range of activating options that don’t involve physical activity. We have inspiring lectures and moments of relaxation for physical and mental wellbeing. In addition, you can take part in outdoor games, weather permitting, or the playful UniSport Olympics throughout the year, spreading joy and inclusivity in the work community.

Refreshing 15-minute breaks in the middle of training events
Briefly and effectively refresh your body and mind in the middle of a training session. Even a 15-minute break or relaxation session brings about wonderful feelings of wellbeing, and easily fits into tight schedules too. Try it out and be surprised how short moments can work wonders for both your body and your mind.

Wellbeing sessions can be flexibly organised remotely, on your premises or at UniSport. The number of remote participants can run into the hundreds, but on-site facilities determine the number of participants that can be accommodated in person.
Physical exercise outdoors
Take a break from your day-to-day work and charge your batteries outdoors. Many physical exercise options, such as bodyweight training or calming yoga, do not require equipment, making them an excellent fit for outdoor activities as well. Join us in nature and see how fresh air boosts wellbeing and brings joy to your recreation day!

The instruction, provided outdoors in a separately agreed location, is suited to groups of roughly 5 to 50 people.

Courses, class try-outs and group exercise classes
Do you wish to boost the wellbeing and community spirit of your work community? One of the best ways to inspire work communities to exercise is to enable physical activity at or immediately near the workplace. UniSport offers excellent opportunities for exploring new forms of exercise and finding inspiration for collective physical activity – both remotely and on site.
Imagine a workday that includes a refreshing 15-minute exercise break or concludes with a relaxing yoga session. Our most popular offerings include yoga as well as body maintenance classes and exercises, which help to recover and improve mobility. Or why not try something new and exciting, such as the basics of acrobatics? The possibilities are endless!
Our services are flexibly available as individual sessions, weekly recurring classes or short-term courses. This enables your team to find the best way to move together and take care of your wellbeing.
Class try-outs and group exercise classes for your team
Make physical activity your community’s new favourite thing! Bring your team or community together to enjoy weekly exercise sessions that are both fun and energising. Choose the class or sport according to your group’s goals and wishes, and we will arrange a suitable instructor for you.
Exercise sessions can encompass a wide range of sports or focus on more in-depth training in one sport. Alternatively, you can enjoy a weekly break session to refresh your mind and body in the middle of the workday. Classes particularly popular in the academic community include a range of gentle body maintenance, yoga and Pilates classes. However, if you are looking for more intensive training, try, for example, HIIT or indoor cycling classes that get your heart rate going and make you sweat.

Courses
UniSport’s course offerings are a veritable treasure trove, with a broad and diverse range of opportunities to draw inspiration from and develop yourself through physical activity. Our courses are an easy way to delve into the world of new sports or to deepen previously acquired skills. In contrast to weekly private classes, the instruction on courses is always progressive, advancing skills from one session to the next. Our courses are founded on joint effort, but we also offer valuable theoretical advice and technical instruction, which are key to independent training in the future. Since our goal is to offer each participant tailor-made and meaningful learning, we can design courses also in different sports and forms of exercise, depending on the participants’ wishes.
Remote instruction is possible in some of our courses, but most of them take place on UniSport premises located near campuses: in Kluuvi, Kumpula, Otaniemi, Meilahti and Töölö.

Gym Start course
The Gym Start course provides a perfect start to independent gym training in just one course session. Under the direction of a specialist instructor, you will learn the basics of safe training and familiarise yourself with gym equipment. We will go through an effective basic programme for the entire body and guide you in the correct techniques so that you can train safely and effectively. In addition, you will get valuable tips for body maintenance and stretching, and at the end of the session you will be provided with a training programme that will give you a smooth start to gym training.

Energy Boost from Exercise course
The Energy Boost from Exercise course is a six-session training course where, together with your colleagues, you will find your exercise groove and increase your resources in day-to-day life and work. On the course, you will learn, under the guidance of a supportive instructor, to draw up a balanced exercise plan and design a diet to support your goals. During the sessions, you will exercise in a diverse manner and boost your overall fitness. The course includes a gym training programme to increase muscle strength and a body maintenance programme to promote recovery.

Running courses
In addition to physical fitness, UniSport’s running courses also boost mental wellbeing. Running has been found to help manage stress, improve mood and enhance memory.
We offer running courses to both beginners and more experienced runners. During the course, you can take part in joint training sessions and get useful tips on body maintenance and muscle fitness. In addition, you will learn running techniques through theoretical elements and practical exercises. The course includes four to six on-site meetings and comprehensive instructions for independent training. Join us to experience the joy and wellbeing that running brings, together with your own group.

Strength in the Back, Flexibility in the Neck course
The Strength in the Back, Flexibility in the Neck course is the academic community’s own relaxation package for anyone interested in the wellbeing of the neck and shoulder area. This four-session course (4 x 60 min) provides employees with tools to improve the wellbeing of their neck and shoulder area as well as their back.
Under the guidance of a physiotherapist, we will review the causes of common back problems, taking breaks during the workday, good posture, as well as muscle fitness and mobility exercises. The main focus is on practical training and the adoption of practices that are easy to implement in everyday life. The course will be carried out flexibly either remotely or through contact instruction, whichever better suits your community.

Well-being lectures
UniSport’s wellbeing lectures are an excellent choice for anyone who wishes to boost their wellbeing. Lecture content has been designed to be easily accessible and inspiring to all, regardless of background. The lecturers are professionals in their field who provide up-to-date information and best practices for promoting wellbeing. In the lectures, stories and examples are shared to inspire participants to make positive changes in their lives.
The content has been designed to benefit people of all ages and in different circumstances. The content can be tailored to participants’ specific needs and wishes, so that they meet their expectations and needs as well as possible. While participation is easy also over remote connections, we are happy to visit your work community on site.

Regular practice reservations of UniSport Kumpula
Specific terms of service (see the document below) apply to the regular practice reservations. Regular reservation period is fixed 15.8.2024 - 15.6.2025 (excluding indoor cycling).
Regular practice reservations can be booked throughout the year in case there are facilities available. We aim to provide the same regular practice reservations to the same customers also for the next season. Don’t miss out – make a regular booking and enjoy the fun of exercising together!
