Postpartum Strength Training

This workshop is designed for mothers returning to active exercise after pregnancy and childbirth. You’ll learn how to start strength training safely and effectively, with attention to pelvic floor function, pressure control, potential incontinence, or abdominal separation. The session includes scaled exercises to begin training and progression techniques as you advance.
Deadlift

Jumping and Explosive Power

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to jump safely and propel yourself effectively. We’ll go through a safe progression for jumping and how to develop explosive power. The workshop is suitable for participants of all levels without injuries that prevent jumping. In this workshop, you'll learn how to squat safely and with proper technique, in a style that suits your body. Proper squat technique is essential, as it allows you to safely add weights to the bar. We will cover goblet squats with a dumbbell and back and front squats with a barbell. You'll also learn mobility exercises to improve your squat range of motion.

Strong Shoulders

This workshop explores various methods to strengthen the core. We’ll practice multiple bent-over row variations, different rowing techniques, and core exercises using body weight and small equipment. Glutes

This workshop explores the diverse functions of the gluteal muscles. We’ll cover various glute activation exercises and techniques to strengthen the gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus. Strong glutes benefit everyone.

Spin Easy
The blue Spin Easy is a low-intensity-level class in which having fun comes first. You will be slightly winded without getting exhausted. The class is versatile and light. There are no steep rises or spurts.
Who is it for?
Spin Easy is suitable for all! It is an excellent class for both a beginner’s first kind of workout as well as a recovery workout for avid-exercisers.
How can I participate?
You will need to bring with you stretchy sports clothes, cycling shoes or other hard sole gym shoes, and a drinking bottle. A sweat towel is obligatory.
Spin Endurance
The green Spin Endurance classes are great for improving physique without rendering you too out of breath. Spin Endurance is great for beginners as well as more seasoned indoor cyclists.The class is versatile. There are no steep rises or spurts.
Who is it for?
Spin Endurance is suitable for all! It is a good class for those that are starting out with indoor cycling, and is also suitable for exercise enthusiasts looking to break a sweat or as a cornerstone for the basic training period of athletes.

Spin Heavy
Spin Heavy is a strenuous interval class for increasing your maximum endurance through alternating exertion and recovery periods. After the initial warm-up, the class involves a variety of interval workouts which vary according to the instructor leading the class. The class ends with a thorough recovery session. Part of the class includes cycling in the maximum endurance range.
Who is it for?
Spin Heavy is most suitable for active exercise enthusiasts who have some prior experience with indoor cycling. It is not recommended as a beginner's first class.
How can I participate?

Spin Intensive
Spin Intensive offers a brisk speed-endurance indoor cycling class. The class may consist of either long speed-endurance intervals or exercise with a more consistent level of intensity. Cycling postures, speeds and loads vary during the class.
Who is it for?
Spin Intensive is suitable for those that have prior experience of indoor cycling and exercising in general. The class is also suitable as a workout for those with high fitness levels.
How can I participate?
You will need to bring with you stretchy sports clothes, cycling shoes or other hard sole gym shoes, and a drinking bottle. A sweat towel is obligatory.
Spin Virtual
Indoor cycling virtual classes can be booked via the group training calendar. In addition to the classes listed in the calendar, you can also come for a virtual class at any time when there is not a guided class taking place in the indoor cycling gym.
We have on offer two kinds of MyRide virtual classes. In STUDIO classes, you are guided by a coach on the screen. In TOUR classes, on the other hand, you are riding through beautiful scenery. You can choose to take either a 30, 45 or 50 minute cycling session.
Both the 30 minute and the 45–50 minute classes are full workouts that include a warm-up and post-exercise flexing. At times, the intensity of the class is high and in the red intensity zone. Of course, you can always pedal at your own pace. The 30-minute virtual classes are high-intensity interval training (HIIT) exercises, in which your performance is maximised in a short time.
Who is it for?
Spin Virtual classes are suitable for all. You can choose the type of class which suits you best.
How can I participate?
The classes listed in the calendar start automatically. When the indoor cycling room is free, you can start a virtual class yourself. The available times can be viewed in the calendar by selecting Courts and Gyms.
Remember to wipe the bike clean after the class with paper and cleaning agents.

Ashtanga Yoga: classes and courses
Astanga yoga is a physically demanding and dynamic form of yoga. During the classes, the asanas (yoga positions) are always done in the same order, and the session involves a gradual progression towards more challenging asanas, whilst simultaneously listening to one’s own body. The exercises are continuous and don’t contain relaxation interruptions, which means that breathing binds the movements together into a sequence. Astanga yoga develops the balance of the body and mind and the ability to be present.
Who is it for?
A weekly astanga yoga session is suitable for those that know the basics of yoga asanas and are used to the more physical asanas. The session includes strength-building movements and exercises that develop mobility.
The Ashtanga yoga advanced course focuses on asana techniques and practicing more challenging asana variations, as well as bandhas – body locks. The course is suitable for you, if you want to discover different variations of asanas, find new dimensions for your training or simply refresh your yoga skills. After the course, you can continue practicing ashtanga yoga in our weekly group training classes.
Astanga yoga is not recommended for those that are pregnant or have high blood pressure.
How can I participate?
You can practice astanga yoga through the weekly classes. If possible, you should bring your own yoga mat with you. A yoga mat allows you to exercise safely and efficiently, and is also hygienically a more pleasant option. If you like, you may also use an exercise mat available on-site.

Flow Yoga: classes
Flow Yoga is a flowing form of yoga that develops mobility, balance and body control. The exercises practised during the classes warm and open up the body and relax the mind. In Flow Yoga, breathing is deepened and your metabolism activates. You move from one asana (yoga movement) to the next without taking a break, and the breathing and movement flow without interruptions.
Flow Yoga combines the best parts of different yoga styles, and the exact content varies depending on the instructor. The class involves exercises that strengthen the body and increase mobility. The class may also involve short breathing exercises.
Who is it for?
Flow Yoga classes are most suitable for those that already know the basics of yoga asanas. Each class progresses in a flowing style, so it is good for example if the sun greeting series is already familiar to you. The class may also involve strength-building exercises.

Gentle Hatha Yoga: classes
Hatha yoga is the most classic style of yoga and the most well known in the West. It is also the basis of many modern forms of yoga. Gentle Hatha Yoga is composed of different basic yoga movements, which are called asanas. During the classes, the same asanas are often repeated so that the movements and positions gradually become familiar to you.
Gentle Hatha Yoga develops breathing technique, body control and peace of mind. Through the exercises, you learn to listen to your body better. During the classes, the exercises are done gently and at your own pace.
Who is it for?
Gentle Hatha Yoga is suitable for everyone! The class is very suitable for those that are finding out about yoga for the first time, but it also provides good basic practice for those that have done yoga before.

Pilates technique course
This course is for those that want to learn the basics of pilates such as core support and the neutral spine position. The course works through the central pilates techniques and body awareness. On the course you will learn the pilates breathing technique, which supports and brings rhythm to the movements. The instruction provided is more individualised than in the weekly classes, and each class involves a more detailed exploration of the basics of pilates. The basics course prepares you very well for attending the weekly classes.
Pregnancy Pilates
This course is suited to those that want to prepare their body for giving birth. The classes involve getting used to the changes to the body brought by pregnancy, learning how to use breathing, and exploring different relaxation techniques. The exercises done in the class strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor as well as the deep back and stomach muscles. All the exercises done on the course are suitable for practising while pregnant. On the course you will also get tips for practising pilates after the pregnancy. The course will help you to maintain a good posture during the pregnancy and while breastfeeding. You can take part in the course at any stage during your pregnancy. Remember to check first with your doctor about participating in the class if you know that there are risks associated with your pregnancy or if you want to make sure that your health is good enough for the class.
BODYBALANCE™
BODYBALANCE ® is a yoga-inspired workout done to music that combines elements of tai chi and Pilates. The class develops both mobility and core strength while calming the mind.

The class is equally suitable for experienced yoga practitioners, those starting to exercise, as well as anyone seeking training that complements other forms of exercise.

Body Care: classes

Neck and Back: classes
The class focuses on increasing mobility in the neck and shoulder area, strengthening muscles, and control of the core. It includes a warm-up, muscle training and mobility sections, and stretching. No set step patterns are involved.

The class is suitable for everyone, and especially for those that enjoy light exercise and are looking for something to ease problems with their neck, shoulders and back.

Easy Training: classes
The Easy Training class is a basic fitness class suitable for everyone. It lifts your heart rate moderately and develops your muscle strength. The class has an easy and fun step pattern section with no jumps. The muscle strength section involves diversely exercising different muscle groups, making use of different tools and your own bodyweight. The class ends with relaxing stretches.
Who is it for?
Easy Training is particularly well suited to those who are just starting out with regular exercise. The classes are also suitable for more experienced fitness-buffs who are looking for lighter exercise.

Afro: classes
In this class you will get to enjoy both the modern and traditional rhythms of West African and Caribbean Afro dance. BODYJAM™ is a funny and sweaty dance workout that will keep you excited!
At this 60 or 30min class you get to learn two choreographies that are created combining the latest dance trends and hit music.
The BODYJAM™ programme changes according to the Les Mills concept every three months.

Running: classes
Running is an efficient form of exercise, developing the respiratory tract and the circulatory organs as well as strengthening the lower limb muscles. Regular running strengthens the heart, improves blood circulation and reinforces the bones due to the vibration caused by running. In addition to the physical effects on your health, studies indicate that running has an effect on your mind. It helps you manage stress and also improves your mood and develops your memory. At UniSport, the running classes take place outside, so remember to bring outdoor clothing!
Who is it for?
The Running Fitness group exercise class is suitable for different levels of fitness, but is best for those that are already regular runners. The class includes a running warm-up, a technique section for improving running efficiency and preventing running injuries, an approximately 20-minute interval session, a muscle training section and some post-exercise flexing. The content of the interval section varies and can be adjusted to suit the level of the participants. The running training group exercise class is normally held from early spring until late autumn.
How can I participate?
You can do running at UniSport through the weekly group exercise classes.
Bring along outdoor clothing, running shoes and a drinking bottle. It is also worth bringing a notebook to the lecture sessions of the courses.
Kettlebell: classes
The kettlebell class offers an intensive functional exercise package which challenges your body in multiple ways. In the classes, you learn kettlebell techniques through instruction provided by a professional instructor. You can always choose from our range of kettlebells the size that suits you best.

The kettlebell classes are suitable for both beginners and the more experienced.
How can I participate?

Core Training: classes
All exercise requires good core strength. Through the 30-minute Core Training class, you can strengthen your whole core in multiple ways through instruction provided by a professional instructor.

Fitness Boxing: classes

Power Training: classes
Power training is an effective class that gets your heart rate high and muscles working. You get to use your body weight as well as different equipment as a resistance, but there are no set step patterns.
Who is it for?
The class is suitable for those who want a tough, sweaty workout. In the class, everyone does the exercises at their own speed, so both beginners and more experienced training enthusiasts can join.
The class replaces the familiar Circuit Training and Total Training classes while the Corona restrictions still stand.
How can I participate?
You can participate in the Power Training classes through the weekly group exercise classes. Bring stretchy sports clothes, gym shoes, a towel and a drinking bottle.
Classes for University staff
Classes for University staff, intended for the university’s personnel will be available during the spring 2024 period from 2 January to 31 May. The purpose of these classes will be to support the personnel’s well-being and motivate them in physical activity.
You can have access to this service with a training card, a 10-session punch card card or by paying for a single visit in following sports centres:

- You can have access to class with a training card, a 10-session punch card card or by paying for a single visit.
- As a customer with a training card, you can book a class 6 days before it starts. You may have 7 active bookings for group exercise classes at a time.
- As a customer with a 10-visit card, you can book a class 6 days before it starts. You may have active bookings as many as there are remaining visits on the card.
- With a single visit, you can make one reservation for the group training class you want. The single visit is valid from the moment of purchase until the end of the next day, which means that the reservation can be made the day before the class at the earliest.
- If there is room in the class, you can also participate without reservation.
Good to know about UniSport's classes and booking practices
- If you cannot participate in a class, the reservation must be cancelled no later than two (2) hours before the start of the class.
- If the class is full, you can register for a place in the queue. Registration for a place in the queue is also binding. Follow your email or booking system to see if you have gained a place in the class. Remember to also cancel your reservation in the queue no later than two hours before the start of the class in question,
- if you cannot or will not attend the class. You cannot gain a place in the class from the queue when there are only two hours or less to the beginning of the class.
- If you do not gain a place in the class, you do not need to cancel the queue registration and no reactivation fee will be charged for an unused reservation.
- Make sure that you log in to the correct class with the access control device.
- Arrive in class on time. If you are late, you will not be able to get in for reasons of customer safety and comfort.
- You can only bring the most essential items with you inside the hall, no training bags, outdoor clothing or shoes
