Our most popular offerings include yoga as well as body maintenance classes and exercises, which help to recover and improve mobility. Class try-outs and group exercise classes for your team
Make physical activity your community’s new favourite thing! Bring your team or community together to enjoy weekly exercise sessions that are both fun and energising. Choose the class or sport according to your group’s goals and wishes, and we will arrange a suitable instructor for you.
Exercise sessions can encompass a wide range of sports or focus on more in-depth training in one sport. Alternatively, you can enjoy a weekly break session to refresh your mind and body in the middle of the workday. Don’t hesitate to propose your own ideas or ask us for tips to tailor the perfect fit for you!
Classes particularly popular in the academic community include a range of gentle body maintenance, yoga and Pilates classes. However, if you are looking for more intensive training, try, for example, HIIT or indoor cycling classes that get your heart rate going and make you sweat.

Courses
UniSport’s course offerings are a veritable treasure trove, with a broad and diverse range of opportunities to draw inspiration from and develop yourself through physical activity. Our courses are an easy way to delve into the world of new sports or to deepen previously acquired skills. In contrast to weekly private classes, the instruction on courses is always progressive, advancing skills from one session to the next. Our courses are founded on joint effort, but we also offer valuable theoretical advice and technical instruction, which are key to independent training in the future. Since our goal is to offer each participant tailor-made and meaningful learning, we can design courses also in different sports and forms of exercise, depending on the participants’ wishes.
Remote instruction is possible in some of our courses, but most of them take place on UniSport premises located near campuses: in Kluuvi, Kumpula, Otaniemi, Meilahti and Töölö.

Gym Start course
The Gym Start course provides a perfect start to independent gym training in just one course session. Under the direction of a specialist instructor, you will learn the basics of safe training and familiarise yourself with gym equipment. We will go through an effective basic programme for the entire body and guide you in the correct techniques so that you can train safely and effectively. In addition, you will get valuable tips for body maintenance and stretching, and at the end of the session you will be provided with a training programme that will give you a smooth start to gym training.

Energy Boost from Exercise course
The Energy Boost from Exercise course is a six-session training course where, together with your colleagues, you will find your exercise groove and increase your resources in day-to-day life and work. On the course, you will learn, under the guidance of a supportive instructor, to draw up a balanced exercise plan and design a diet to support your goals. During the sessions, you will exercise in a diverse manner and boost your overall fitness. The course includes a gym training programme to increase muscle strength and a body maintenance programme to promote recovery.

Running courses
In addition to physical fitness, UniSport’s running courses also boost mental wellbeing. Running has been found to help manage stress, improve mood and enhance memory.
We offer running courses to both beginners and more experienced runners. During the course, you can take part in joint training sessions and get useful tips on body maintenance and muscle fitness. In addition, you will learn running techniques through theoretical elements and practical exercises. The course includes four to six on-site meetings and comprehensive instructions for independent training. Join us to experience the joy and wellbeing that running brings, together with your own group.

Strength in the Back, Flexibility in the Neck course
The Strength in the Back, Flexibility in the Neck course is the academic community’s own relaxation package for anyone interested in the wellbeing of the neck and shoulder area. This four-session course (4 x 60 min) provides employees with tools to improve the wellbeing of their neck and shoulder area as well as their back.
Under the guidance of a physiotherapist, we will review the causes of common back problems, taking breaks during the workday, good posture, as well as muscle fitness and mobility exercises. The main focus is on practical training and the adoption of practices that are easy to implement in everyday life. The course will be carried out flexibly either remotely or through contact instruction, whichever better suits your community.
